Subway accessibility (train cars)

Improvements to trains are being actively moved forward so that everyone can comfortably utilize the subway.



Wheelchair spaces

  •  There is one wheelchair space reserved in each train car (2 wheelchair spaces per car on New Tram).
     Also, an emergency alarm device with intercom is installed in wheelchair spaces.

Equipment to prevent falling

  •  Lines not yet installed with automatic platform gates and platform doors have protective barriers in the spaces between train cars as a measure to prevent passengers from falling onto the tracks.

Onboard indicators of location on train

  •  The location on the train is indicated using braille found inside the doors and a collection of convex surfaces that provide a map-like display of the train car/door position so that the visually impaired can check their location inside the train.

In-car displays

  • In-car display
  •  An easy-to-understand display of destination and transfer information in 4 languages is installed above the doors in every train car. Also, a chime rings when doors open and close, and a bell is installed to notify by sound where the doors are open.
